Valentina Tóth ging afgelopen seizoen succesvol in première met haar voorstelling Wilbloei. De voorstelling werd lovend ontvangen door pers en publiek. Nu mag zij haar voorstelling laten zien op het Fringe Festival in Edinburgh onder de titel Fatal Flower.

Vanavond zal zij haar voorstelling hier voor het eerst in het Engels laten zien. 

Fatal Flower is an ode to the hysterical woman. In this tragicomic, musical, and delightfully over-the-top one-woman show, Valentina explores the boundaries and clichés of the female image in society. Blending opera, theater, musical, cabaret, classical music, and comedy, she brings a parade of hysterical women to life—among them the Queen of the Night, a vengeful bride-to-be, and a strict Russian piano teacher (or is that her mother?).

And finally, when all these larger-than-life characters have exhausted their fury, Valentina steps forward as herself. Armed with extraordinary musicality, razor-sharp humor, and biting social commentary, Fatal Flower keeps the audience teetering between sympathy and bewilderment—either way, it’s a triumph.
