Pranay moved to Amsterdam 3 years ago. As many immigrants before him brought his dreams too. But last year he celebrated his 40th birthday. Maybe it’s already too late to make dreams come true… Maybe “horeca forever” is the only thing that has left…
Dit ben ik. This is me is a theatrical reflection on Pranay’s life: childhood in a small town, studies at National Academy of Theatre Arts, work in Polish theatre and life after 40 in a new country. Performance deals with issues of identity, being an immigrant, gay and artist; but also is a mocking manual on how to make a successful contemporary theatre piece. Pranay’s cynical monologue drifts between storytelling, stand-up and ritual.
“Dit ben ik. This Is Me combines youth, history, dreams and drama in a way never seen before.”- Ahmad Rabieh (Preacher)
After a year from the premiere and shows in AsharoTheatro, OT301 and Theater Bellevue, Pranay brings to Theater de Richel a new version of his creation.
